Week of May 19th

We are into the last week of the school year.  Please make sure that all assignments are turned in.  On Thursday, seventh grade will have the last honors assembly of the 2007-08 school year during fourth and fifth periods. Friday, will be a special day.  Students are not to bring home any papers or bring backpacks to school.  There will be year book distribution and signing, games, and other activities.

Monday: Review for the test on the human body.  Textbooks were collected. 

Tuesday: Test on the human body.  No homework.

Wednesday: Students worked on a mind-mapping activty and discussed scientific illusions using examples from the internet.

Thursday: First period: Owl Pellet Lab. Fifth period: Honors Assembly.

Math: Period 2 ( Please see Ms. Sinclair's blog for updates.)

Monday: Review for the Final Exam on Tuesday.  No homework but to study.

Tuesday: Final Exam (4th quarter Benchmark Test).  No homework.

Wednesday: Final Exam (Part 2).

Thursday: Reviewed Final Exam.  Graphing Calculators.

Study Skills: Period 3

Monday: Social studies, finishing ABC book.  Math reworking of problems. Packet on Study Skills, recall questions.

Tuesday: Social studies/ABC books, study skills packet on recall questions, reading.

Wednesday: Students worked on finshing all assignments.

Thursday: Games/finishing assignments.

Math: Period 4

Monday: Review for the Unit 7 test.  Homework: Study.

Tuesday: Unit 7 Test.  No homework.

Wednesday: Students filled geo-solids with water to find out what kinds of shapes can be made by turning the solid and observing the flow of the water.

Week of May 12th

We are into our second last week of the school year and the eighth week of our last quarter.  All progress reports were signed and returned.  Thank you! Students, please keep up the good work and complete all assignements and turn them in on time. The International Day (Diversity Day) on Thursday was a success.

Monday: Students worked on their diagrams of the brain, took notes, and began to review for the test on the human body Monday, May 19th.  Their human body books are to be completed by Friday for a homework grade.

Tuesday: Counselors presented a video on the law and student behavior.  No homework.

Wednesday: Reviewed the endocrine system.  Began to read Pages 592-616 in class.  Finish for homework.

Friday: Reviewed the immune system. No homework.

Wednesday: Finish cross sections.  Begin rotations of figures in space.  Homework: WS front side, answer d-g.

Friday: Reviewed cross sections.  Discussed translations and rotations in space.  No homework.

Week of May 5th

Wednesday: Students read about and labled a diagram on the nervous system.  No homework.

Thursday: Students checked and discussed the diagram on the nervous system.  Students particpated in a  role play of how the stimulus-response functions in the nervjous system.  No homework.

Tuesday: Students completed math tests, worked on math homework,  completed assignments in social studies and language arts, and read.

Wednesday: Students reworked math test problems, read, and did an  activity for study skills.

Thursday: Students discussed the homework activity.  They worked on math homework, had a locker check, and finished other homework.

Math: Period 4

Monday: Students took the Math problem-solving test. They reviewed for a quiz on direct variation.  Homework: Worktext page 190.  Look over problems we did in class and work #11 for homework.

This is the sixth week of the spring quarter.  CRCT testing continues Monday and Tuesday.  On Wednesday, progress reports will go home with the students.  Please review your student's progress, sign and have your child return the progress report to his or her teachers.

Week of April 21st

This week is the fifth week of the spring quarter.  On Wednesday, April 23rd, we will begin CRCT testing.  Please make sure your student has two sharpened #2 pencils, gets plenty of rest, and breakfast the days of testing.  Lunch will be later due to CRCT testing until 12:00 noon. We have two more CRCT tests, Science (Monday) and Social Studies (Tuesday).

Monday: Circulatory system.  Homework: period 5 only read pages 543-547.  There will be a quiz on the circulatory system on Wednesday.

Week of March 24th

We are now in the second week of the fourth quarter of school.   We have two weeks until spring break and three weeks before CRCT testing.  Please make sure that all assignments are completed and turned in.

Monday: Students went to the computer lab and reviewed for the test on evolution.  Study all handouts, the snack, and the study guide for the test tomorrow.

Wednesday: Students worked on human organ systems.  No homework.

Thursday: Students began their organ systems books.  No homework.

Friday: Students did a deductive learning activity with organ systems vocabulary in first period and put their organ systmes books together in fifth period.

Monday: Students are reviewing for the Unit 5 test and for the CRCT.  There will be no homework menu for the next three weeks.  Students received a folder, a Holt CRCT workbook, and a schedule of assignments for the next three weeks.  They are to follow the schedule for homework assignments.  There are 6 pages of questions (5-7 questions per page) for the students to answer each day.  Please ask your student for the yellow math folder to see the daily assignment. The Unit 5 math test will be on Wednesday. Homework: pages 1-6

Tuesday: Students worked on a lab about relative and absolute dating.  Homework: Finish questions on lab worksheet and study for a quiz on evolution on Wednesday.

Wednesday: Students took a quiz on evolution.  They read and took notes on pages 150-156 and are to finish it for homework.

Thursday: Students were given a study guide to prepare for the test on evolution on Tuesday, March 25th.  Homework: Do the first 4 questions on the study guide.

Friday: Students need to review for the test on Tuesday.  Notebooks need to be in order for a notebook check.  Complete any work that has not been turned in .

Friday: Students tunred in homework sheets for the week.  They recorded reading in math and practiced dilations.  No homework.

Monday: Students worked on math, read for language arts, did current events, and organized.

Tuesday: Students worked on math, language arts projects, current events and organization.

Wednesday: Students began to review for the social studies test on Friday.  They also read, worked on math, and finished language arts projects.

Monday: Students did an activity with vocabulary from geometry.  They copied line segments and began bisecting lines. Homework: Get Unit 4 Parent letter initialed and study vocabulary.

Tuesday: Students bisected lines and copies angles.  They reviewed vocabulary for a quiz tomorrow. No homework.  If the parent letter has not yet been signed, it is due tomorrow.
