Festival News Letter
Dear Parents and Students,
Festival (Large Group Performance Evaluation) is coming up for our 7th and 8th grade combined chorus. We will be performing during the school day and parents are welcome to come and watch. Attached to this letter is a Field Trip Permission Form, and Chorus T-Shirt form. Please fill these out and return them no later then Feb. 28th. The following information is about our Festival Performance. The students have been working very hard and we are very excited for Festival!
Location: Burnt Hickory Baptist Church

Date of Performance: March 10th
Itinerary for the day:
9:30am Leave Simpson Middle School for Burnt Hickory Baptist Church (transportation will be provided by school buses)
11:00am Arrive at church and eat lunch at the church
11:45am Chorus Warms Up
12:00pm Chorus Performs on Stage
12:15pm Chorus meets with a Clinician to talk about the performance
12:30pm Chorus goes to Sight Reading room to perform
2:00pm Chorus arrives back to Simpson
As a chorus we will be watching a few other groups perform before and after our performance. This will give the students an opportunity to watch and learn from other chorus groups.
Lunch: Burnt Hickory Baptist Church will be providing lunch for the Chorus groups, but we must prepay and preorder them. The lunches will cost each student/chaperone $5.00. The lunch will be from Chick-fil-a. It is very important for the students to eat lunch before their performance so their concentration is on their performance and not on their hungry stomachs! The money can be in cash or check. Please make checks out to Simpson Middle School. Students need to bring in their $5.00 for lunch by Thursday, February 28th.
Festival Concert Attire: Students need to wear black dress pants, black close-toed shoes, and their Simpson Middle School Chorus Polo Shirt that we are in the process of ordering.
