Parent Letter Unit 3

Because of testing, we got a little behind so we didn't finish unit 2 completely at the end of the first nine weeks.  Unit 2 will count 10% of  2nd nine weeks grade.  We will begin our next unit on Friday and continue on for approximately 4 weeks.  Please see the attached parent letter to see what section we will cover and example problems.  If you are readind my blog, please email me and let me know.  Thanks and have a great weekend!

September 15-19

Important Dates

September 17 - Progress Reports come home and CoGat testing begins

September 22nd -26th - IOWA testing begins

We began working on Chapter 4 this week.  We will be covering the first 8 lessons in this chapter and then using outside resources for our sections on radicals.  I am asking the students to go ahead and to start memorizing the first 20 perfect squares because this will make working on radicals easier.  Because of testing, every class will not meet every day.  As of now, there is a tentative math quiz scheduled for Wednesday over the first 10 perfect squares and section 4-1.  I hope to have this unit finished by the end of the first nine weeks.  If you are reading the blog, please email me and let me know. I hope everyone has a great week!
