2008-09 Committee Applications

If you would like to join the Environmental Committee for the 2008-09 school year, please read the attached explanation about the committee and complete the application.  Even students who were members in past years must reapply.

Wrapper Brigade

It is never too late to start an additional recycling program.  The Environmental Committee has an ongoing committment to reduce waste.  Simpson has joined the Wrapper Brigade.  We are now recycling all granola bar/power bar/ Rice Krispie Treat wrappers.  When we send them to the company sponsoring this, they will be turned into fabric that in turn, will become items such as back packs.  In addition, for every wrapper we send in, two cents is donated to the Humane Sociey of Cobb County.  So, please, save your wrappers!

Diversity

Our Power Over Predjudice (P.O.P.) club enhanced one of the Environmental Committee's gardens last week.  This garden is now called the Diversity Garden.  It is located at the corner as you enter our parking lot from the driveway leading on to our campus.  This Diversity Garden has or will have plants of different colors, textures, sizes and shapes.  It is one of the the P.O.P.'s efforts to demonstrate the diversity of our world and how we can all peacefully co-exhist.
