The Simpson Spaghetti Dinner is back!

Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 6:00-8:00 (Doors open @5:30)

Your Simpson Foundation is busy planning a wonderful dinner for you and your family.  Come take a night off from cooking and join you Simpson family for the Spaghetti Dinner and Auction.  Dinner and dessert will be served by the famous "Chef Luigi" who will be making his very own spaghetti sauce.  You'll also be treated to a showcase of sthe students' academic work.  At 7:30, the raffle/auction begins which will feature items from around the community as well as special activities such as teachers/students movie theater show and teachers/students bowling nights.  The cost is $5 per person.  Pay at the door.

Week of Jan. 23-27

We will be focusing on the history, government and economic system of Canada this week using the textbook Chap. 5 and other resources. The students will receive a study guide for the Canada test that is on Jan. 31.

We will be using the on-line textbook Chap.5 Section 1 for most of the geography of Canada.

Economics Test

There will be an economic test on Tuesday, Dec. 20.  The students received a study guide in class today. They should all have the vocab sheet from this week to use  along with other notes and the on-line textbook pages 58-69. 

Dec. 12-16, 2012

Monday- Students worked on vocabulary for the economics unit.

Tuesday- Economic Basics and Economic Process

Wednesday- Economic Systems

Thursday- Vocabulary quiz, Economic Development and Trade

Friday- Compare the economies of United Kingdom, Germany, and Russia

There is a government test re-take on Friday, during class, for any student that would like to try to bring up their grade from the test that was on Tuesday. The students were given their grades today in class.  The test tomorrow has completely different questions.  So study if you plan on taking the re-test

Progress reports went home today with the students.  For my homeroom, please sign and return to progress reports to me.

Week of Dec. 2, 2011

The government unit test will be on Tuesday, December 6, 2012.  We will be doing several activities to prepare the students for the test.  To help out, the students need to review the notes each night.  If they have questions about any of the notes or material they need to bring those questions to class.

Monday - Review for part 2 of the history of Europe.  It is a quiz, not a major test.

Tuesday - Take the quiz and then start the unit on government with a lesson on limited and unlimited government

Wednesday -How do citizens participate in different governments?

Thursday - How is power distributed in different forms of governments?

Friday - Responsibilities of citizens
