This week we are working on the first standard in Georgia Geography for the 8th grade Georgia History course. We will be looking at absolute and relative location, geographic features, major cities, etc.
Mon. - We started working on your Georgia History Project in class with computer research today. Please make sure you are working on this at home. It will be due next Tuesday.
Tues. - We will be working with materials to give more information to help with the project and answer our first essential question.
Wed. - Fri. - We will be working on background for understanding the standard so that this will be incorporated in the Project.
May 4th - 8th
Remember your Asia Government Assessment is on Thursday and your final notebook is also due.
Mon. We will check your government charts and answers to your Reading Study Guide questions. Then we will start on you Government Review Sheet in preparation for your assessment on Thursday.
Tues. - Field Trip. Make sure you have completed your Review Sheet and as Studying for your assessment on Thursday.
Wed. - International Day. Make sure you have been studying your completed review sheet for your assessment on Thursday.
Thurs. - Asia Government Assessment and Notebook with completed chart and Asia Government Review Sheet is due.
Fri. - We will begin our study on Georgia History or Personal Finance.

I hope you had a wonderful week end! We only have one more CRCT Test. . . Social Studies. They save the best, most important until last.
Remember you have an Asia Economics test on Thursday and a Current Event due Friday. Some of you have already turned yours in, which is great planning.
Mon. - We will be checking the Asia Vocab. so that you may start studying for your test on Thursday. STUDY
Tue. - We will begin working on the Asia Economic Study Guide and review some of out key points. COMPLETED STUDY GUIDE DUE WED.
Wed. - This is the day to clear up any questions you have on Asia Economics. We will check the study guide and work on more economic review. STUDY STUDY STUDY.
Thurs. - Asia Economic Test is today. We will begin Asia Government after the test.
Fri. - Current Events are due. We will take notes on ASIA Government ppt. and work on our country governments chart.
International Day is coming May 6th. We need everyone to participate in this fun day. This will showcase the various cultures that we have represented in 7th grade this year. Please talk to your parents about your ancestry and get your permission slip signed by Friday April 30th. Parents are invited to be included in the presentations. It's fine if your parent is only able to come part of the day.
April 13th - 17th
Notebooks were due Friday before Spring Break. Several of you have not turned these in. Please do so. You will need them in the near future.
Also grade cut offs for progress reports are this Friday and some of you have sevral missing assignments.
I hope you had a great spring break and are ready to finish out your your with good grades and habits.
Mon. and Tues. we will be working on Aisan Economies. The focus from the book is on 21.3, 22.1, 22.2, and 24.3. We will read and do the Review Questions on 660 - 1-10, 661 - 1-2, 696 - 1-9, 728 - 1-10, and 729 - 1-2.
Wed. - We took a notebook quiz and finished checking our answers for Mon. and Tues. questions.
Thurs. and Friday we will be reviewing Southwest Asia and Africa.

Tues. - We will finish the video clips on Gandhi and we will complete our Asia Development Unit today. Don't forget your Study Guide is due tomorrow.
We. - We will check study guides and review for the test.
Thurs. - Asia Development Test.

Thursday and Friday we will be completing India and China Development.
The Simpson Shuffle Run/Walk and Health Fair will be held on Friday, March 27, 4:30-6:30 PM. Registration forms for the run/walk can be found at the front office and on the Simpson web site www.cobbk12.org/~simpson. Proceeds will support the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life which raises funds to fight cancer. Please join us! Together we can make a difference.

Mon. - If you have not Read p. 611-613, 631-633, 635 please catch up. Today, we will be reviewing India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh's fight for independence and Gandhi's non-violence approach.
Tues. - We will begin looking at Vietnam. Read p. 644-647 and 655-657. In addtion, we will look at the Cold War and the Domino Theory.
