8th Health-The students are learning about the consequences of drugs. TEST is THURSDAY, May 15. They have been given a completed study guide. Human Growth starts Thursday after the test. It is an abstinence based program. Your child must have a permission slip to attend.

8th Health- We will be finishing up the alcohol unit this week. The students learned types of alcohol, physical/mental/emotional/social consequences, alcoholism, where to seek support, how deal with peer pressure, and alternatives. TEST IS THURSDAY. They have completed study guides.

8th Health- The tobacco unit has started. The students have been in the computer lab collecting information on tobacco and working it into a presentation. These presentations will run until Monday. The presentations count as a test grade.
6th and 7th Grade Physical Education - The Olympics are getting ready to get started. Students have their teams, and they will be picking activities over the next couple days.
8th Health- The nutrition unit will end this week. The students have been in the computer lab doing a fast food lab. Test is Friday. Students have a completed study guide, and we will be reviewing Thursday.
6th and 7th Grade Physical Education -Students have learned the rules and skills for team handball or ultimate frisbee. Game play will continue for the rest of the week. We will start getting ready for the Olympics next week.
8th Health- The students completed a project on the body systems. We started the nutrition unit. They are currently learning the nutrients and their purpose. They are creating a scavenger hunt that will serve as a study guide. Test will be at the end of next week.

6th and 7th Grade Physical Education -We are starting our recreational games unit. This will lead up to the end of the nine weeks. They will also have their last pacer and a written test. Students will get a completed study guide for the test.
8th Grade Health -We have started the drug unit. The students are learning about the social, physical, and mental/emotional consequences of drugs. The students have been assigned a drug to research and will present it to the class. This presentation will count as a test grade. Presentations start Tuesday.
6th and 7th Grade Physical Education - The students are finishing the fitness unit. They will record their personal scores and put together an individualized fitness plan.
8th Grade Health - The human growth unit has started. The students are learning about the social, physical, and mental/emotional consequences of sexual relationships. The program is abstinence based. I teach for two days on physical consequences. Then, a speaker from the county comes in and talks about the benefits of abstinence. The next unit is drugs.
