5 de mayo

What is 5 de mayo?  Your students should be able to tell you in great detail what is celebrated on 5 de mayo but I will tell you what it is NOT.  5 de mayo is NOT Mexico's Independence day (which is September 16).  What is then?  Your student holds the answer:)

Test over Chapter 3 on Wednesday

Here's what you need to know:

  • p.83 Nota cultural: grading scales in Peru and Mexico
  • Telling time p.86
  • p.88 Nota cultural: courses
  • Talking about being in a hurry p.90
  • Hora latina p.91
  • Adjective agreement and ser p.92 and 93
  • Sequencing events p.84

Review the Miley Cyrus worksheet I made and come with specific questions on Wednesday morning.  You will not have to know how to conjugate the verb ser like you did on the 3-3 quiz.  You will however, need to know how to use it in a sentence to describe you, your friends, and your favorite class.

Test layout:

Part 1: Listening

Part 2: Reading (similar paragraph to the Miley Cyrus schedule paragraph), sequencing events (similar to the Boots activity on the overhead we did in class), True or False section based on a student's schedule.

Part 3: Culture (covered in class and on various quizzes)

Part 4: Writing (similar questions to section II on the Miley Cyrus worksheet), telling time using the clocks in pictures.  Ex. You will have a picture of a clock saying it is 1:30 for example.  You will write: Es la una y media de la tarde.  You need to review : de la manana, tarde, noche.

That's it!  Email me if you have any pressing questions you would like answered over the weekend.

Gracias,

Srta. Hayes
