Dear Parents:

I wanted to share this with you.......

This is from the Jimmy Carter Center in downtown Atlanta. I thought someone might be interested in going.

We are working on a project for the Civil War. They picked groups and each group has a standard for the chapter. They will be putting on a news show with all the information that they have researched.

They are doing a great job.

We will be working on this through next week. I am not giving a test for this chapter. The test grade will be the research and the final presentation of the project.

I have enjoyed seeing so many of you this week at conferences. Please stop by and say hello even if I am not conferencing with you.

There is not another news article until Feb.11th. I made a mistake!!!!!!!!! That's ok....

Have a great week.

Thanks,

Debbie Levin

Georgia History fo the week of Nov. 17th-21st

Dear Parents:
I have completed entering all the grades for this 4 ½ weeks. The students will get their progress reports next Tuesday. You can look on I-Parent and see the grades. If you have any questions please let me know.
The chapter 6 tests were really good. I am very proud of the kids.
On Friday we will be taking a quiz to see who will qualify for the Geography Bee for our school. This is not a grade.
On Monday we will start our unit of study on Georgia Government. We will start with chapter 15. Instead of 1 chapter test, we will be having a quiz after each section. I think this will be better for the kids. There is a lot of information in this unit. We will also be doing chapter 16. Our goal is to have this done by the winter holidays, but I am not sure that this is possible.
The kids made a Cherokee Rose today in class for the Trail of Tears. They are beautiful.
I gave a pre-test on chapter 6 before we started the chapter and the kids knew very little. Yesterday I gave the post-test and it was amazing.....they all improved greatly. Way to go 8th grade!!!!!!
Have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful leaves. They are amazing.......
Thanks again for all your support...
