Besides completing three of the five CRCT tests this week, all classes have begun reading The Giver. We are using the reading journals to keep our notes as we analyze the characters, setting, etc. If you have your own copy, remember to bring your book and highlighter to class each day.
We are also identifying vocabulary words from the novel as we read and writing synonyms. Students are responsible for learning the meanings of the words on the lists. If you feel that you do not understand a word after we have discussed it in class, make sure that you use a dictionary to look it up.
If you were absent, you will need to get with a classmate to make sure that you have all of the notes that you missed.
