7th Grade Language Arts Current Unit:  Grammar is the focus of our work this week.  We will be reviewing previously learned concepts (types of sentences, direct object, predicate nouns and adjectives, action and linking verbs).  Also, we will practice comparative and superlative adjectives (Ex: bigger than and the biggest).(Please go to the Georgia Department of Education to see a list of 7th grade Language arts standards. Monday: (MS)-Make up work: ACTION Magazine/question sheet. ALL: Read fiction book.

Wednesday: Comparative and Superlative Adjectives worksheet. Use your notes to complete the five highlighted adjectives.

7th Grade Life Science: Current Unit: We are continuing with the Genetics Unit.  This week we are studying the structure and function of DNA in our cells. Students will be creating a DNA model and writing a descriptive paragraph.

7th Grade Language Arts Current Unit: We continue the expository writing unit. We are revising and editing our comparing and contrasting essay.  Final drafts sould be finished on Thursday. The grammar focus is verbs, and the sentence structure is complex sentences with adverb clauses using SINCE and ALTHOUGH.(Please go to the Georgia Department of Education to see a list of 7th grade Language arts standards. 7th Grade Life Science: Current Unit: We are beginning the Genetics Unit.  Our first focus is the Cell Cycle where students will be investigating how cells replicate themselves.  This then leads into the relationship of chromosomes, DNA, and how parents pass traits onto their children.

Tuesday: None

Wednesday: Write or type final draft of the Cell Cycle essay.

Thursday-Friday: None

This time students will be interpreting and composing complex sentences using adverbial clauses containing AFTER and BEFORE. Current Unit: This week begins with a quiz on the parts of a cell and their functions.   We will be using the microscope to observe both plant and animal cells. Then, we will begin studying the processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration.

Monday: Use your notes to complete the Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems Summary

Tuesday: None

Wednesday: Use your notes on cell parts and functions to complete the CELL PARTS RIDDLES worksheet.

Thursday: Finish the Cell City Comparison. (Most people finished this in class.)  Study your cell parts.  Test on Monday.

Friday: Cell Parts Test on Monday.  Do the "Practice Test" and study your notes.

Current Unit:  We continue to focus on the responding to literature writing piece . Current Unit: Interdependence of Life -  we will complete our study of biomes this week by focusing on freshwater and marine ecosystems.  Then we are on the study of cells.

Current Unit:  This week's focus is on our new writing unit on how to respond to literature. 7th Grade Life Science

Current Unit: Interdependence of Life -  Students continue to research and create a terrestrial biome  poster which reflects their knowledge of the abiotic factors of each biome as well as the adaptations and relationships between the organisms living in that enviromnment.
