Thank You So Much!

As this school year draws to a close, I would just like to thank all of my students and their parents for the love and support you have shown me this year.  It has been a very difficult time, and your caring and understanding has made it easier to bear.  I do love teaching math!  Today one of my students wrote, "I remember the first day of school when you said that by the end of the year, you hoped that we would love math more than when we walked into that class." Students, I hope you find joy in problem solving real life situations.  I hope you use what you learned this year as a foundation for your 8th grade and other mathematics classes.  Most of all, I hope you now have the confidence to know that you can accomplish that which you dream!  Good Luck always!  Please come back and let me know how you're doing.  Love, Mrs. Sandra J. Sinclair

Week of April 21-25, 2008

We have entered our final week of review for the Math CRCT on Friday, April 25th.  Math 7 and Math 78 have basically the same classwork and homework.  You will find it listed below.  In addition, I will offer 8 AM CRCT Study Sessions on Tuesday, April 22 (Geometry focus), Wednesday, April 23 (Algebra focus), and Thursday, April 24 (Number Sense/Data focus).  If your child forgot to get a signature from me in order to attend any or all of these study sessions, please print this BLOG and sign it for him/her.  I strongly encourage attendance each day, even if they cannot arrive exactly at 8 AM.

Classwork:
Coach pages 118-123 on Geometric Applications; pages 163-166 on Algebraic Thinking; and pages 209-214 on Data Analysis.
CRCT Transparencies for Weeks 21-24 (Weeks 21-22 on Monday and Weeks 23-24 on Thursday)
CRCT Benchmark Quiz on Tuesday (They will get the results on Wednesday, April 23rd.)

Homework:
Students will complete pages 79-94, numbers 1-93 in the CRCT Prep Workbook by Wednesday, April 23rd. (Numbers 1-49 were assigned over the weekend and numbers 50-93 were assigned on April 21st.) That is the only homework this week.  The students have been working very diligently the past four weeks in the  CRCT Prep Workbook and I feel that it is important that the students get a good night's rest before the next day's testing.  Therefore, I will not make any additional homework assignments.
