We are starting our fitness testing this week. We call it the "SIMPSON"S CHALLENGE". It is a combination of the Fitness Gram and the Presidential Fitness Test. The purpose of the test is to give the students an overall view of their personal fitness level without eliminating anyone due to one or more tests. Each activity has a point value and the students keep up with the total number of points for all 8 tests. At the end of the program students will have an opportunity to develop a personal fitness plan to improve their 2 lowest activities. We have given them examples that explain how and why to develop these plans. Frequency, intensity, and time are the 3 essential items to look for in the plan.
The 8 tests that your child will attempt are: push-ups, pull-ups, crunches, The Pacer, long jump, vertical leap, sit and reach and the shuttle run.
