Next to last week of school!! Whoo hoo!!

We're getting closer to summer vacation, but we still have a little more work and a lot more fun to have in 7th grade.

This week we have been enjoying our 8th grade unit on Light. We have been rotating through all the 7th grade science teachers to get a thorough overview of Light. Mr. Bristow even spent a day with the 7th grade science classes sharing his expertise to introduce the unit. We will have a test on this unit on Monday, May 18, so start studying now. You will find the various notes and PowerPoint presentations in the following downloads -- check back daily for updates:

This week we will finish the Human Body.  We will have our quiz over the CIrculatory, Skeletal, Muscular and Nervous Systems on Thursday (instead of Tuesday.) This quiz is NOT an open book quiz.  I repeat...NOT OPEN BOOK.

You need to make sure your Human Body Organ-izer is complete and accurate because we will have an OPEN Organ-izer Test on Monday.

You need to bring your textbook to class everyday.  We will have an official textbook check on Friday.

Attention all 7th graders!! Our Field Trip to the Georgia Nature Center is quickly approaching. We will be leaving the school at 9:15 AM sharp so don't be late for school that day. Here are some other tips to help make our trip a huge success:

1. School Dress code APPLIES. Please do not wear inappropriate clothes (i.e., short shorts, tank tops, etc.)

2. Wear sunscreen. From what I understand, some of the nature center is OUTSIDE. Please wear sunscreen and perhaps bring some with you if you burn easily.

3. Sunglasses will be appropriate.

4.  You can bring a camera if you would like, but we will not be responsible if it is lost or stolen. iPods are also allowed, however, we will not be responsible for any lost electronics.

5. If you have a medical condition (listed with the school), please speak with your homeroom teacher regarding medication that day.

6. Stay with your homeroom teacher, or the teacher you are assigned to travel with.

7. Behave. Remember, you represent Simpson Middle School. Let's make a GREAT impression.

We should leave the nature center around 2:15 or 2:30 and arrive back at Simpson between 3:30-3:45. If you have any questions, be sure to ask your homeroom teacher.

Week of April 20, 2009

We have had a great week so far, and we are taking care of that CRCT like a piece of cake!

There will be little to no homework this week so you can rest your brain cells. I do want to give you a heads up for next week:  Tuesday you will have a quiz over the circulatory, skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems.  That's a lot for a quiz, so just be sure you focus on the structures of each system and their functions, as well as the major points--don't sweat the details!

Next Thursday you will have an OPEN HUMAN BODY ORGAN-IZER TEST!!!!  Did you get that? Open book!!  Make sure your Human Body Organ-izer is accurate and complete.
