Endangered Species Classification project

Most research will be done at home per your group's direction.

Group poster board is due Monday. Have a responsible person make the purchase this weekend. White is preferred--other colors ok if white is not available.

Part of the grade will be your group's assessment of your contribution.

Projects are due at the end of clas on Friday, May 7.

Week of April 26, 2010

This week we will wrap up our study of the human body. Please check Pinnacle as I am updating grades daily. All Human Body Organ-izer grades will be in put this week, and then I will be working on getting make up work added. With the end of the quarter (and school year -- Yippee!!) getting close, you do not have much time to turn in missing work.

Also, keep in mind that we still have a few weeks of school left and we will be working the whole time. Assignments must be turned in on time!

Be sure to look over your textbook and get it ready to turn in.

Week of April 19, 2010

This week we will continue our study of the human body. If you did not turn in your Human Body Organ-izer last week, you need to get it turned in ASAP.

There will be a quiz on the skeletal and muscular systems on Thursday 4-22 and a quiz on the nervous and immune systems on Friday 4-23.

You will be notified on Tuesday if you need to re take any previous quiz. Remember, if you made a D or F on any of the previous quizzes, you will have an opportunity on Friday to retake those. NO ONE will be given this chance on the skeletal/muscular or nervous/immune system quizzes, so start studying NOW! You can use your textbook to begin studying now while you wait to get your human body book back form me.

Educational Excellence Expertise:  When taking tests keep in mind some helpful tips.

 

1. Read the answers first.  Think about them as you read the selection or the question.
2. Read the question or selection.  Underline important words or parts of the selection.  Anticipate the correct answer.
3. Reread the question or parts of a reading selection to help you determine your answer.
4. Look carefully at the answer choices and eliminate answers by asking, “Why is this incorrect?”  For example, if an answer is about something you have not studied then do not choose it.
5. Underline or circle the word NOT.  This will help you select the answer that does not belong with the other answers.
6. Skip answers you are not sure of and go back and answer them later.  Sometimes after working to the end of the test, some items may help jog your memory so that you can remember the answers to the questions you skipped.
7. When skipping a question, be careful to match the number of the question on the test with the same number on the answer sheet.
8. Pace yourself so you have enough time to answer all of the questions.
