Ecology Unit Test Weds., Oct. 12

This week we will continue our Ecology Unit as we examine the transfer of energy through ecosystems via food webs.

If your Trophic Levels Metaphors were not completed in class on Monday they need to be ready to go at the beginning of class Tuesday. 

**We will have a quiz covering Food Webs Tues., Oct. 4. We will  have a unit test covering everything we have learned so far in Ecology on Weds., Oct. 12. Please look back over my old blog posts and down load my notes if you have not already done so and begin preparing for this test NOW!!!! 

 

Week of Sept., 19, 2011

This week we will be in the computer lab Monday-Weds. researching our Ecology Action Plan. Presentation will begin on Thursday. See "Pages" for the Action Plan links and information.

Week of Sept. 12, 2011

SCIENCE

This week in science we will cover the Levels of Ecological Organization and Interactions. Check back daily for updates.

Abiotic labs were reviewed today. Some students who scored below a C were given their labs back t make corrections. They must return these to me by the beginning of their class time on Weds. in order to be re-graded. They will not recieve points back to exceed a 74. Late papers will not be accepted unless a student is absent for the full day on Weds.

Monday HW: Complete the Levels of Organization Pyramid if you did not finish it in class. Be sure to use colored pencils to complete these. Don't forget to define the terms listed on the left hand side of the paper.

READING

This week we will be working on our Greek/Latin word parts/vocabulary.

Roots quiz on Friday.

Root Limerick due on Friday.

Due to the Monday holiday and being in the Media Center on Tues., I will collect Reading Logs and Journal Responses on Weds.

This week we will begin our Vocabulary Unit focusing on Greek and Latin Roots and how we apply these to our science vocabulary.
