This week we will continue our study of Biomes. Please see the attached PowerPoint and Organizer that we used to take notes on the Earth's major land biomes. Please be sure to bring your textbook and colored pencils to class each day of our biome study.

The Land Biome portion of your collage activity is due FRIDAY!! This is a change. We will review climographs on Thursday. You may wait to your climograph until then. The only full class time that will be given will be on Tuesday, but bring all materials on Thursday so we can review the climographs. Look at my Pages under Biome Information for sites for climograph/climatogram information.

Attached is the instruction document, a black line world biome map to color for your biome and a colored map to use as a reference:

Week of Oct. 17, 2011

We started the week taking our Ecology Unit test. We will move on to Biomes on Tuesday. Check back daily for updates.

IMPORTANT ECOLOGY TEST INFORMATION!!!!

After discussing our concerns about shortened classes due to testing and trying to give our unit test this week, Mrs. Rose and I have made a decision to POSTPONE THE TEST FOR ALL CLASSES UNTIL MONDAY!

We feel this is in the best interest of all the students and will allow us to have another review on Friday in class.

Keep studying!!! 

 

Week of Oct. 10, 2011

This week we will continue of study of ecology. Your test is Weds and Thurs. The test will be given in 2 small chunks each day to allow enough time due to our shortened classes this week.

Week of Oct. 3, 2011

Monday we will be in the computer lab for a virtual lab on Food Webs. If you do not finish the analysis questions for this lab in class then you must complete them for homework.

Tuesday  is our quiz on the transfer of energy!

Depending on the weather, we are going to be outside either Weds. or Thurs. to play an Ecology Game. Running is involved so please wear appropriate shoes!

Unit Ecology Test in 2 parts on Weds., Oct. 12 and Thurs., Oct 13. I am splitting the test into 2 parts due to shorter classes for ITBS testing that week.
